Ocean B Volleyball

Mike Zarate is the founder of various volleyball clubs including Crackers and Rice (1996), Club Florida (2000) and Club F1 (2005).  In 2007 Mike founded Ocean B Volleyball in his quest to provide athletes with "A Fresh Approach" to club volleyball.  His dedication to the sport paid off in the opening of his club with 277 girls and 75 boys trying out in the FIRST YEAR. 

In only their second year, Mike has led OBV to become the LARGEST club in South Florida and the 2nd largest club in the state!!  In 2008 OBV's tryouts exceeded 300 girls and 120 boys!  Presently he has the ONLY club in Florida that fields girl's teams, boy's teams, a men's team, women's team, and is affiliated with the largest beach club in Florida - Beach Dig.

In only two years, OBV has become one of the top volleyball clubs in the country placing 5th at the USAV Boys National Tournament and 3rd in the AAU National Tournament.  Our coaches carry years of experience and have coached at the College, High School and High Performance levels. 

•  Provide a healthy, supportive atmosphere in which young men and women can dedicate themselves to improving their volleyball skills, and strive to excel and succeed in a competitive environment.

• Teach volleyball skills as well as sportsmanship, discipline, the drive to excel, goal achievement, self-confidence, teamwork and a mindset of continuous learning and improvement through the sport of  volleyball.

• Using accomplished, experienced coaches to provide a high quality program of instruction, practices, scrimmages, and active participation in tournaments at a competitive level, so that other teams respect and anticipate playing us.

•  Prepare players to lead and excel on their high school teams.  Capture and cultivate the interest and talent of middle school boys and girls to ensure a strong future for South Florida volleyball.
